Open mornings
We hold regular open mornings where prospective parents may visit the school and meet the teachers. Guided tours by our older pupils are always popular as parents learn about the school from the child’s perspective. These open days are an excellent opportunity for parents to experience for themselves the friendly, caring and supportive environment that defines St Olave’s.
Visiting the school
Before registering their child parents are asked to book a meeting with the Head Teacher to visit the school during the school day. Parents also get to see each classroom in action and often remark on the enthusiasm of the children’s faces and the buzz of activity throughout the school. To book a visit please contact the school office on 0208 294 8930
Registration and assessment
Our admissions procedure allows parents to make the decision about their child’s education with confidence. Once a child has been registered they are invited to spend some time with their respective class to assess how they respond to their peers, teacher and their surroundings. Following this assessment an offer of a place is usually made. If they accept the place, parents sign a contract and pay a deposit.
Settling in
Pre-Prep and Reception children are invited to bring their favourite teddy to a ‘Teddy Bears Picnic’ in the summer term preceding their September start date. This is where they meet their teachers and classmates in a relaxed and fun environment. At the same time a welcome meeting for parents provides them with all the information they need for starting at St Olave's.
