Music & Performance

Music and Performance

Music and performance both play an important part in school life with productions, concerts and plays staged regularly throughout the year for visitors to enjoy. Pupils are encouraged to develop an appreciation of music and performance and learn how to express themselves through activities including song, dance and drama.

Productions

All age groups put on performances for parents and friends throughout the year. The children love dressing up and the excitement of working together as a team shines through in every performance.

St Olave’s Singers

Music and Performance

A choir for any child in Years 3 to 6 who simply loves singing. Endless talent is not necessary but endless enthusiasm is. The highlight for SOS has been taking part for the last three Christmases in the Young Voices Concert at the Royal Albert Hall. The summer term offers another opportunity for the SOS to take part in an Evening of Music as a fundraiser for The Stephen Jota Children’s Centre in Uganda.

School Choirs

There are 2 auditioned choirs, Prep Choir and School Choir that practise every week. They perform regularly throughout the school year and at external events and festivals. There is even a staff choir who love to sing and perform regularly at school events.
