Wading in the river with Year 4

Wading in the river was fascinating and a really practical way of learning how rivers work.  Year 4 visited Deptford Creek on Tuesday 5th October.  We saw the flow of the river and how the tide rises and falls quite dramatically every day.  The children found an impressive number of creatures living in the river, including freshwater shrimps, eels (who had swum to London all the way across the ocean from the Caribbean!), Gobi fish and leeches.
If you are interested in visiting with your family, the Creekside Centre has some interesting activities going on during half-term.  Further information is given below  –you can add the school name when booking to receive the discounted rate.
