Here at St Olave’s Prep School, we value the Emotional Wellbeing and Mental Health (EWMH) of all our students and staff.

EWMH is increasingly a central consideration within the school and within the wider community. We have a number of different processes to help children who feel that they may need to talk to someone about their wellbeing or get support for someone they are concerned about. As of September 2019 all of our teachers and teaching assistants are fully trained through the MHFA as Youth Mental Health First Aiders.

Pupils’ understanding of the importance of cultivating mental fitness is excellent as a result of the school’s clear emphasis on a balanced approach to life, which is addressed through its highly effective well-being programme

ISI June 2019

We commit to making it our mission to promote positive Emotional Wellbeing and Mental Health for all of our pupils and staff. We will strive to create an environment that has a whole school approach, ensuring that the message that 'mental health is everyone’s business' is heard. We will put the wellbeing and mental health of our school community as a top priority and commit to our policies in order to reflect this. We will provide excellent mental health support, understanding and intervention to our whole school community.
