Swanage Day 1

Monday

Year 5 have arrived at the Townsend Centre in Swanage after a long but comfortable coach journey. We were very lucky that the sun was out for our arrival. After we had met our leaders for the week, Glenn and Clare, we left our suitcases in our rooms and then devoured our lunches. Following a tour of the centre, we had a very quick walk down (a very steep) hill to the town of Swanage. The children explored the beach and we were very lucky to be able to go onto the pier, the kind pier officials kept the pier open a bit longer for us. Lots of photo opportunities were had, especially of Swanage bay and Old Harry’s Rocks! We then had an even quicker walk back up the hill in order to arrive for our mapping workshop of the Isle of Purbeck. We are now about to go in for a well deserved dinner, followed by ‘Spy School’.
