On the 19th January, ten Year 5 children were invited to go to Blackheath High School to take part in a Maths Challenge morning.

We were put into groups that allowed us to work with children from other schools and children from Year 7 and Year 10 who attend Blackheath High School. Once the competition started, the groups were given different types of questions such as word problems, algebra problems, spatial problems such as placing animals in a zoo using clues about where to put them and lots of others to solve; it was quite hard!
At the end of the morning, the results were announced and the winning table included two St Olave’s children – Henry and Matthew! We were then given lunch and got on the coach to come back to school. We had a great time!
